The term &#8220;dopamine circuits&#8221; typically refers to the specific neural pathways in the brain where dopamine is used to transmit signals between neurons.<\/span><\/p><h5><b>Key Dopamine Pathways<\/b><\/h5><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are several major dopamine pathways in the brain, each associated with different functions:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Mesolimbic Pathway<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Often referred to as the reward pathway, it runs from the ventral tegmental area (VTA) in the midbrain to the nucleus accumbens in the limbic system.
